Porsche will reveal its most powerful Panamera the very first time in North America on April 20, 2011 in the New York International Auto Show.

The engine within the new top-of-the-line Panamera is based on the already proven and powerful twin-turbocharged V8 engine within the Panamera Turbo. The 4.8 liter, V8 engine in the Turbo S achieves a maximum creation of 550 horsepower, that is 10 percent more than the 500 horsepower delivered by the Panamera Turbo. The torque can also be increased over the Turbo from 516 lb-ft to 553 lb-ft. In the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” mode of the standard Sport Chrono Package Turbo, the overboost function can temporarily generate additional torque having a peak rating of 590 lb.-ft. Porsche’s first production hybrid, the 2011 Cayenne S Hybrid sport-utility vehicle, has been certified as being eligible for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit as a Qualified Hybrid Motor Vehicle. Customers who purchase a new 2011 Cayenne S Hybrid before December 31, 2010 or who have already purchased one earlier this year may be eligible for a one-time tax credit up to $1,800.

The Cayenne S Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds on its way to a top test track speed of 150 mph, yet it delivers an impressive EPA-certified 20 mpg city/24 highway. Its base price before the federal tax credit is $67,700 (excluding destination). Continue Reading →
